It can be a tough job determining which household products can be disposed of in your regular trash and what is considered hazardous. Here is a simplified list  of Household Hazardous Waste:

Poisons: Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, & other poisons.

Heavy Metals:  Mercury and products containing elemental mercury.

Corrosives:  Acids, bases, and reactives

The Lincoln County Solid Waste District and Lincoln County Haulers together put on an annual event in July or August where Lincoln County residents can drop off their Household Hazardous Waste at no charge.  We post on our website news and Facebook page the date and time of that event.

Prescription Drug Disposal: In Lincoln County, PAADA (Partnership Against Alcohol & Drug Use) has established permanent, free collection boxes that are open year-round for safe and anonymous disposal of unused drugs. Dispose today at Newport City Hall, 9am-5pm, Lincoln City PD 24/7, and Toledo PD 24/7.  Learn more about PAADA and their take back program.
