Milk, juice, soup cartons (waxed coating) can’t be recycled in our area.  Please put them in your landfill/trash cart for disposal.

Unfortunately, mirrors have a reflective coating painted on the back making them nearly impossible to recycle. Currently, there are no recyclers we’re aware of who take mirrors for recycling. The best thing to do is to dispose of it in your trash/landfill cart.

These containers are hinged, thus clamshell name, and are no longer accepted in Mixed Recycling. Because recycling sorting facilities are not designed to properly sort out these items from other materials and the decline in the global recycling market, they are NOT included in mixed recycling programs.

We are no longer accepting plastics #3-7, including plastic tubs, yogurt containers, etc. because there is currently no market for them. Shredded paper should be contained in a bag in your curbside trash/landfill cart.  Another option is a shredding service where all shredded paper is recycled: Thompson’s contracts with iSecure, Inc. to offer secure, onsite, certified NAID document shredding at your business with local customer service.  You can also pick up a convenient size personal ShredBox at our office to collect your confidential papers and bring back to shred when it’s filled. VHS tapes go in your landfill/trash cart at the curb. Currently, there are no reyclcing programs for VHS tapes.

Pallets can be put into Mixed Compostables ONLY if the pallets are NOT treated wood, ALL nails removed, and are CUT into 3-foot lengths.  Otherwise you can haul them to the Agate Beach Transfer Station, 8096 NE Avery (fees may be associated).  Please cover your load!
