Effective July 1, 2023 Thompson’s Sanitary Service rates will increase by 9.70% in the City and 8.75% in the County. This increase is primarily driven by our dedication to providing living wage jobs with competitive benefits, increases in costs to process material collected at the curb, and costs to maintain and insure trucks.

We’re running regular routes Memorial Day, May 29 – please put carts out by 6AM for service! The Transfer Station is open regular hours, 9:00am-5:00pm, but our TSS main office is closed.

Just in case your little lights aren’t twinkling anymore… We found an Oregon recycler to recycle those little twinkle lights! From now through the month of January, you can drop them off for FREE at our Recycling Center, 7450 NE Avery in Newport, M-F 8-5pm for recycling.

We’ll be enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday with our family and friends! There will be no regular garbage/recycling service that day and our office and transfer station will be closed Thursday, November 24 in observance of the holiday. We are running routes on Labor Day, so if your regular service day is Monday, please put your carts out September 5th for service! The transfer station at 8096 NE Avery is open regular business hours, 9am-5pm. Our regular business office will be closed.
